My name is Jeff McClintock. I got my start in Real Estate with a RE/MAX office. I learned alot and was always grateful for the opportunity to learn with them. In the summer of 2008 I saw my chance to open my own office. As many of you know I named it in honor of my mom who passed that same year. Flip the word WOW upside down and wa la, you have mom.
Now on to whats on my mind. But first a question. Have you ever picked up a box of generic cereal and asked the question " Is this really a name brand in disguise?" perhaps you have and perhaps you also put it back in favor of the named brand. Well in Real Estate, many believe that if you go with a name brand you have seen on tv that the service is better, the rates are better or the agents are better. My favorite is that they can sell my house. I don't really know the origins of the generic cereal, but I can say with great certainty that if you pick WOWza over a franchise you won't miss a thing. In fact you may gain a few things. We have the same licence, use the same MLS, same forms, same everything. Heres where we start to break apart. I can negotiate my rates on pretty much everything I do. Property management....flat rate of $65 a month military and seniors, no application fee for military. Reduced deposits for military. Why won't the franchise do that? I will tell you in one word OVERHEAD. Those commercials you see cost a fortune, to be one of their agents cost a fortune, the building costs a fortune.
I have overhead, but its not used on paying for a National ad, Real estate is a local matter. I spend my money locally. I spend my time learning the homes in the local area and so do my Realtors. Well thats about it, the next time you pick up that generic cereal, give it a try it might just be the good stuff without the fancy cover.
